Quick heads up on what to expect mid-term. v9.0 will come with a completely revamped way of storing its settings.

• supporting backup of all options/forms in one step
• overall performance increase
• much less get_option() calls
  • direct $var access for settings
  • less memory consumption
  • There will be specific steps required in terms of upgrading (including backups just to be on the safe side of things) since it's essentially a heart transplant.
